These days, the majority of people rent movies regularly. Often we will wait for the DVD rentals to hit the stores, as opposed to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of big winners in the DVD rental world.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana is back in action, after a 19 year hiatus. This is the most recent movie in the Indiana Jones series. In this movie Mr. Jones it’s the cold war, and the Russians are the enemy. The Soviets are looking for ancient relics called the Crystal Skulls, which are thought to have secret powers.
THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Ben Garvey, once a bad boy criminal, has changed his life for the better. With a stable home, and a good job, things are pretty darn good. Then, he is fired from work, and he turns to crime for the solution. People die during an attempted robbery, and he is sentenced to death. He expects the lethal injection to kill him. Shockingly, he isn’t dead, but is in an insane asylum. He now struggles for his sanity, and his soul.
LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. But Michael’s past is about to catch up with him. A long time ago, he was in a viscious L.A. gang, that he somehow got away from. When a bad twist of fate gives away his location to his old gang leader, his family is put in grave danger. He must risk his future, and work with the gang to get a huge illegal drug delivery across the border.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This feature film tells a story about Scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who, because of a gamma ray experiment gone bad, as been changed into the Incredible Hulk. This box office hit tells of the marvel comic character the green Hulk. Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, all have roles in this film. Louis Leterrier directs this film. The film style is sci-fi/action-thriller.
DECEPTION: Jonathan McQuarry (ewan mcgregor) has a chance meeting with corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. This is a meeting that will change his life. He is exposed to “The List”, which offers a secret world of sexual indescretions. But, he also gets caught up in a treacherous game of back stabbing and death.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his missing brother, science professor Trevor Anderson explores caves in Iceland that sends him into the depths of our planet. This is another version of the original 1959 movie, which was about the science fiction book by highly acclaimed author Jules Verne. Cast includes Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers.
THE HAPPENING: Science teacher Elliot Moore, along with his wife and some friends are all fleeing Philadelphia on a train. The city has been thrown into chaos. Citizens are being affected by some strange illness, and are taking their own lives. Can we solve this dilemma, or are we approaching the finish of the human race?
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is attacked and taken by Afghan insurgents. They try to force him to make missiles for the insurgent group. He was wounded while he was being captured, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To survive his injuries, and escape this predicament, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.
SPEED RACER: An anime-cartoon with a new twist. As you saw with The Flinstones, Speed Racer is an animation changed into a feature film with actors. Born into the family business, Speed Racer is a young man who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a major rally car race that his older brother lost his live in. With odds against him, and the future of the family business at risk, Speed Racer teams with his former adversary Racer X, in an effort to capture the championship, and rescue the family racing business.
